10 Best CS2 Music Kits to Check Out Today

KeyDrop Team

Music kits are an excellent way to customize your Counter-Strike experience—after all, it’s the soundtrack for your matches and for the time spent in menus and lobbies, setting the tone for your game. And then, of course, there’s your anthem, playing every time you place as the MVP. So, with the summer music festival season in full swing, we thought we’d take a closer look at CS2 music kits—every list of the best CS2 music kits will be subjective, but we’ve done our best to cater to a range of styles, situations, and genres. Let’s find you a winning soundtrack!

For each music kit, we’ll include an audio track with the MVP anthem, plus links to the full set of tracks on YouTube and to Steam listings.

Gunman Taco Truck - CS2 music kit cover

Gunman Taco Truck by Dren

If you don’t need your music kit to be serious, and you’re not against spending a little more on one (currently $16 or $30 with StatTrak), Gunman Taco Truck is the number one choice. Just listen to that MVP anthem, isn’t that the perfect thing for the opposing team to hear after they’ve been owned by you?

The mariachi-style music from this kit is actually the soundtrack from another game, the indie hit Gunman Taco Truck. In case you’re not familiar, the game involves driving a taco truck across a post-apocalyptic landscape of the United States, killing mutated enemies along the way to acquire meat that you’ll later use to make tacos in a parody of a restaurant game. It’s a lot to take in, I know.

Anyway, it’s not just the MVP anthem—the entire kit has the same vibe. Admittedly, you’re probably going to have a hard time taking the game seriously when it feels like a mustachioed mariachi band is following you around the map, but it’s worth experiencing at least once.

The Good Youth - CS2 music kit cover

The Good Youth by Blitz Kids

If you want something more serious but not over the top, give The Good Youth a try. Steam listings describe it as “the perfect music kit for rushing B while thinking about those night drives you had with your friends in High School”, and that just about says it all.

The Blitz Kids were a British Pop/Punk band formed in 2006, at the height of the genre’s popularity. The tracks from this kit, including the MVP anthem, are high-energy and upbeat, but not overly distracting. A great choice all round.

Insurgency - CS2 music kit cover

Insurgency by Robert Allaire

Insurgency is an interesting blend of 8-bit game soundtracks and modern electronic music, with rather varied tracks. The MVP anthem uses a clip that’s a perfect for the role: it’s distinctive but not way over the top, with a cool beat and a fairly strong finish (it doesn’t just fade out or trail off). The creator of this kit, Robert Allaire, is an award-winning composer for movies and TV with a long list of titles to his name, by the way.

Drifter - CS2 music kit cover

Drifter by Matt Levine

The Drifter music kit has a well-defined fanbase: you either love it or don’t get the appeal at all. It sounds like the high-end musical score from a Western movie, maybe with a slight modern twist. The MVP anthem sounds pretty classy, but doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s a niche choice, but there’s no denying it’s one of the more interesting CS2 music kits. It was composed by Matt Levine, an accomplished video game composer, producer, and editor, with titles like Uncharted 4, inFamous, and The Last of Us in his portfolio.

If you’re digging the Wild West vibes, but Drifter is too chill for you, check out High Noon by Feed Me—this kit adds an electronic element that makes the soundtrack more lively.

Hotline Miami - CS2 music kit cover

Hotline Miami by Various Artists

If you think Hotline Miami sounds like the soundtrack from an early 80s cop show, that’s because it actually comes from a hit indie shooter game set in that decade. The game Hotline Miami was released in 2012 and became an instant hit. It’s a fun (albeit super-violent) top-down shooter, so if you’re looking to take a break from CS2 now and then, give it a go.

Anyway, back to the music kit. Many consider it overrated, and it’s true that the MPV anthem is a little bland, but the soundtrack itself is pretty cool. It has that high-stakes atmosphere of an old-school action movie that works as well for CS2 as it does for the original Hotline Miami. Give it a listen and see if it’s your thing!

Metalheads, this one’s for you. There are quite a few music kits to choose from if you’re into the heavier side of rock or metal, and III-Arena has to be one of the best. The countdown tracks are especially good, and the MVP anthem rocks both figuratively and literally. It comes with a cool buildup and strong conclusion, making it the perfect sound bite for those moments of victory. All of the tracks are pretty intense, though, so they could get tiring after a while.

Diamonds - CS2 music kit cover

Diamonds by Mord Fustang

Some will say it’s a classic, others will scream it’s overrated, I’d say both sides are correct to some extent. No matter what, though, Diamonds is the perfect choice if you’re looking to completely overstimulate your brain by adding a club mix to CS2.

The MVP anthem is relatively mild compared to the rest of the soundtrack, which sounds like something that’d blast from the speakers at a club in Ibiza in 2010 at 2am. Somehow, this feels both completely at odds with CS2 and, at the same time, exactly right.

GLA - CS2 music kit cover

GLA by Twin Atlantic

Perfect if for your in-game soundtrack you want something fairly energetic that doesn’t get repetitive or annoying after a while. The MVP anthem is fairly neutral, too—a little old-school, perhaps, but it’s neither irritating nor bland. Its only downside is the fact that it trails away at the end instead of finishing on a strong note—it can feel a little weak. Still, it’s a good choice overall if you want a chill, easy-listening-rock soundtrack for your matches and don’t care too much about making a statement (or driving people insane) with your anthem.

Moments CSGO - CS2 music kit cover

Moments CSGO by Darude

No, Sandstorm is not on there, my dear fellow 90s kids. I know, right?

Moments CSGO sounds very similar to the Finnish DJ’s biggest hit, though, so if old-school trance is your jam, it should still make you happy enough. The MVP anthem is not for everyone: for some of you the energetic, uplifting vibe will make it perfect, though some will find it somewhat cringe-inducing. The rest of the tracks make for a high-energy, stimulating Eurodance soundtrack. And the custom 10-second bomb and round countdowns from this kit will double your stress level.

When we said this list would include the best CS2 music kits, we didn’t specify that “best” would mean high artistic value. u mad! by bbno$ is the best CS2 music kit… for annoying the sh*t out of everyone in your match. The Flashbang Dance and EZ4ENCE, both by The Verkkars, are also strong contenders in this category.

Alright, let’s make that triggering anthem the final one! Did your favorite music kit make it onto our list? What are the best CS2 music kits for your style of play?
